People of Fleet Complete: Venna Tasane
Meet Venna, who has been with Fleet Complete for 13 years, focusing on solving the most challenging hardware issues in our customer support department.
Venna's job involves handling the most difficult technical problems. He is an expert in hardware, making him a key person for tough cases. Venna says that his biggest motivation and reason of staying in Fleet Complete for all those years are the people and the nature of his work that allows every day to tackle something new.
"The people in our company are cool. Otherwise, I wouldn't travel from Pärnu to the office (125 km) once or twice a week. I've been working from home for 7-8 years now, even before COVID, and I enjoy a good mix of home and office work. I also like being out in the field, training installers, solving difficult issues for our customers.”
Memorable Projects
Venna remembers a unique project that dates back 12 years which was a 4x4 expedition to Mongolia. In the vast desert without internet, Venna had to create a system that sent location updates via SMS once a day. "I had to figure out and test the setup. The device sent the location through SMS, which then plotted a point on the map."
Fleet Complete and Jõgeva MC
Fleet Complete has proudly supported Jõgeva MC and one of the biggest Moto event in Baltics, Jõgevatreff, for several years with our GPS tracking devices. These devices help monitor the club's equipment like tractors, ATVs, motorcycles, trailers, and various club activities. Venna is a key member of the Jõgevatreff organizing team, ensuring the event runs smoothly.
"As the creator of Jõgevatreff, Igor Ellison, would say — Jõgevatreff is a gathering of good friends, and these friends come from around 15-17 different countries. If you look around at this event, some people have attended every year for 32 years. There must be something here that brings these people together."
The Motorcycling Community
For Venna, the motorcyclist community is like a big family. Greeting each other on the road and offering help to a motorcyclist stranded on the side of the road is almost coded in. One example is from this summer’s trip to Germany, where one fellow rider’s motorcycle broke down on the road. “A random Lithuanian from the Kaunas club immediately came over and offered help,” says Venna. “Years ago, on the way back from a trip to the Czech Republic, my friend’s motorcycle had problems. It didn’t take long before local club members were there, took the bike to their garage, helped with the repairs, and offered accommodation, food, and drink. It’s a very supportive community.”
Exciting Motorcycle Tours
Venna's passion for motorcycling has led him to many adventures over the past decade. One of the most extreme trips was in Romania, where a bear came within a few meters while riding on a mountain road. “It was quite eerie. People were feeding the bears from their cars because the animals were moving along the roadside. Eventually, the police arrived and ordered everyone to move on, because it’s no joke, a bear is a large predator and could easily have bitten someone's leg off.”
However, one of the most beautiful places he has ridden was in the Czech Republic, where an unexpectedly ended road led them to a nearly completed guesthouse with breathtaking views. “The crisp air of the Tatra Mountains, the sunshine, and good company – there was something in that place and at that moment that I will remember."
Venna is dedicated, thorough and reliable, and it can be seen that he can also inspire the people around him with his motorbike (Fleet Complete Estonian office has a handful of motorcyclists today, and quite a few of them are visitors to Jõgevatreff). We are glad that Venna has found its way to us and we look forward to new years of motorcycling and challenging problems on Venna's desk.
Jõgevatreff takes place this year July 25-28.
