At NurseMatch, we are committed to helping nurses achieve their long-held dreams of working in the United States. Many skilled nurses who have immigrated to Canada face limited opportunities in their current environment, which results in a loss of valuable healthcare talent. NurseMatch bridges this gap by connecting these highly qualified professionals with the healthcare opportunities they deserve in the U.S.

Our mission goes beyond simply matching nurses with jobs. We specialize in providing a seamless transition for nurses seeking to continue their careers in the U.S., while supporting hospitals with their critical staffing needs. Through comprehensive immigration support and placement services, we ensure that each nurse’s journey is smooth and stress-free, empowering them to fulfill their professional aspirations in a country where they have long desired to work.

What sets NurseMatch apart is our unique, employer-led recruitment model. By partnering with select U.S. hospitals, we provide ethical international recruitment that focuses on impactful staffing projects. This collaborative approach allows us to bring in anywhere from 35 to 100 permanent, experienced registered nurses per project, ensuring hospitals receive the foundational staffing they need to improve patient care and outcomes. These nurses, in turn, bring their wealth of experience, passion, and commitment to the U.S. healthcare system.

This process is a win-win for all involved. Nurses are able to pursue their career goals, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the U.S. healthcare workforce, while hospitals benefit from the addition of highly skilled professionals. By addressing critical staffing shortages and ensuring a positive, lasting impact on healthcare delivery, NurseMatch is proud to be part of a solution that helps build a stronger, more resilient healthcare system.

In doing so, we not only help fulfill the dreams of nurses but also make a meaningful contribution to healthcare across the United States.

In an exciting development for the healthcare industry, Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System has launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at cultivating the next generation of healthcare professionals. The Health Education and Learning High School, which is the first of its kind, recently opened its doors to students, marking a significant milestone in healthcare education.

Located on the campus of Houston's Nimitz High School, this innovative program is the result of a collaborative effort between Memorial Hermann, the Aldine Independent School District, and Bloomberg Philanthropies. With $31 million in funding from Bloomberg's initiative to create high schools in urban and rural areas, the program was designed to offer students a comprehensive education that seamlessly integrates traditional high school coursework with specialized healthcare training.

The Health Education and Learning High School is set to accommodate 760 students and operates on a four-year academic calendar. What sets this school apart is its unique curriculum, co-developed by Memorial Hermann and Aldine ISD, which includes specialized healthcare classes, work-based learning experiences, and opportunities for students to earn industry credentials and certifications.

Beginning in ninth grade, students are introduced to job shadowing and simulation lab experiences, allowing them to gain hands-on exposure to the healthcare field. By the time they reach 11th grade, students have the opportunity to participate in paid internships and receive professional mentoring, further preparing them for a career in healthcare. Upon graduation, students can transition directly into employment with Memorial Hermann, providing a seamless pathway from education to career.

This initiative not only addresses the growing need for skilled healthcare professionals but also offers students a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience while still in high school. Memorial Hermann’s visionary approach exemplifies how healthcare systems can take an active role in shaping the future workforce, ensuring that the next generation of healthcare providers is well-equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

NurseMatch applauds this forward-thinking initiative, as it aligns with our mission to support and cultivate the next generation of healthcare professionals. Together, we’re working towards a brighter future for healthcare.
