A nightmare....How to waste cash...
Have you ever received two pieces of marketing from the same company on the same day? Where the company in question has misspelt your name, or your title, or your address? I have....and for as long as I can remember our household has received two expensive looking brochures from a company on the same day, both addressed to my wife, one with her maiden name, one with her married name, but other than that, identical.
This must be marketing blunder #1 in business. Literally doubling the spend. Surely in this day and age a company would have the ability to check to find out whether a persons situation has changed over time....if only there were a company out there that could provide a true single customer view....wouldn't it be great if you could then cross reference it against your own data to see if that person (with two brochures) has actually spent anything recently...and if they have, then you could send them more targeted marketing perhaps....or if they have not, then you might consider stopping sending a brochure, let alone two....
