A New Chapter with Hero Media

I’m so excited to finally join Hero Media Inc. In many ways, this has been years in the making, watching Joseph Anthony build an incredible advertising company, Hero Collective.

Hero Collective is a 100% Black-owned, digital-first, creative and social media marketing company focused on turning brands into heroes. The team and work that Joe leads is unprecedented in the industry. For years, I’ve watched him as a founder, but also a marketing leader, building an incredible un-agency with world renowned brands.

Now, we get to collaborate on Hero Media. I’ve seen the vision for this media company come to life, and it is met with a unique opportunity to push ahead for the culture in meaningful ways. As an entrepreneur, strategist, award-winning marketer, but also someone who owes so much of my career to media and the impact that it has had on my journey and what it does for the amplification of storytelling, I'm super excited to step into this new role as President, Digital Innovation at Hero Media.

In this role, my goals are to create something for the culture, build something transformative for the industry, push the boundaries of innovation and to not just build a content destination, but also establish powerful and meaningful partnerships and creator relationships, coupled with the opportunity to build an ad tech solution that will soon take the industry by storm.

 Maillian is focused on driving growth through new and ongoing partnerships with its ad tech offering that assists other diverse-owned media companies in reaching brands and reporting various performance metrics.

 "We have a variety of tools that a big advertiser would expect but that a diverse content creator doesn’t always have the ability to provide,” she said. “There’s a lot of fun and interesting tentacles here, especially on the B2B side, where we can help take advertiser appetite above and beyond just our owned and operated channels.”

Time for New Goals…

In her new role, Maillian hopes to forge global relationships with large media companies and brands that need Hero Media’s full suite of offerings.

She emphasized looking for partnerships “either on the media side working with an existing conglomerate who…has an appetite for diverse content and needs distribution to diverse audiences,” or a “holding company for a variety of brands that allow us to plug and play in a unique way across our properties.”
