😊 Myths about Network Marketing 😊
We love myths. They draw us into their tales. They open our imagination. They scare us at times and make us feel good at other times.
Myths sound good on the inside but distort facts on the outside. They exaggerate truth for their own purposes.
Network Marketing is full of myths. They sound true to the outsider but are false to the insider. They become nightmares to us when prospects believe them.
There are five myths about Network Marketing.
--- Myth #1: I must find special people
--- Myth #2: You can’t say the wrong things to the right person.
--- Myth #3: You can’t say the right thing to the wrong person.
--- Myth #4: Just go out and get 100 “No” answers from prospects.
--- Myth #5: Every “Wrong Step” gets you one step closer to a “Yes!”
For every myth there is a story. And with every story there is fiction mixed with fact. Separate the fact from the fiction and we have the truth.
Myth #1: I Must Find Special People.
Amateurs believe this myth. Professionals know better. We don’t need to find special people.
Ask yourself,
--- “Do people want more money or less money?”
--- “Do people want more security or less security?
--- “Do people want more health or less health?
People are presold. We don’t have to convince them that what we have is better than what they’ve got.
--- People are presold to find a better opportunity.
--- People are presold to retire with more money.
--- People are presold to look healthier and younger.
We don’t need to find the perfect person. We just need to speak with better words to hit the hot buttons of the people who are presold.
Myth #2: You Can’t Say the Wrong Things to the Right Person.
We can say the wrong things to the right person.
If I walk up to a date and say to her, “Your face could stop a clock,” what would her response be? She’d “clock me.”
But if I walk up to the same date and said, “When I look into your eyes, time stands still,” her response would be different.
We said the same thing to the same date but in different words. We could a bad response from one and a good response from the other.
So, we better learn how to say things, so the prospect has the best chance of making a ‘yes-decision.”
Myth #3: You Can’t Say the Right Thing to the Wrong Person.
If you don’t say anything to the wrong person, somebody else will.
Which is going to be easier for you? To not speak at all to the wrong person and get zero results? Or to say the right things to the wrong person and get results?
Eventually, someone will come along and change the wrong person’s life because someone said the right things.
Myth #4: Just Go Out and Get 100 “No” Answers from Prospects.
What does every “No” answer get you? It gets another “No” answer.
Saying, “We need to get 100 ‘No’ answers before we can get one ‘Yes’ answer” is absurd.
Would it make better sense to learn how to speak with better words? With better words, we can’t say the wrong things to the wrong person. We’ll always speak the right things to the wrong person and get better results.
Myth #5: Every “Wrong Step” Gets You One Step Closer to a “Yes!”
What does every wrong step get you? Another wrong step to “No.”
If distributors have no direction in what to say and do by leaders, distributors will make more wrong steps to “No.”
You can’t expect a distributor to bring his job skills into Network Marketing and succeed. Would you ask a brain surgeon to build you a house? Would you ask a carpenter to perform brain surgery on you? Of course not.
Then why would you ask a distributor to go out and make mistakes to find how he can best talk to people?
When I first started Network Marketing, I did all the wrong things and it got me “No’s” every time I spoke.
When I learned about the tips, tricks, strategies and techniques of speaking better words, I got more “Yes” answers than “No.”
It is not about finding the right person.
It’s not about saying the wrong things to the right person or saying the right things to the wrong person.
It is not about getting 100 “No” answers thinking it gets you closer to a “Yes.”
It is not about making mistakes that get us one step closer to find a “Yes” answer.
It is about saying the right things. It is about speaking with trained words to create rapport, break the ice, close and give presentations.
