MTN ESWATINI CELEBRATES WINS
MBABANE – In the past few months MTN has bagged several prestigious awards which it attributes to its clientele and the nation at large.
In one of his speeches when receiving an award in October last year, MTN CEO Wandile Mtshali made resonating remarks to that, “This award is for the nation because it allows us the opportunity to further extend our CSI objectives, touching as many members of the public as possible.”
The company boasts a population coverage of 98 per cent which translates to over 810 000 subscribers and a geographical network coverage of 96 per cent.
In a period spanning over 12 months, MTN has won four prestigious awards and several others, accolades which were a testament to the side of Doers striving to ensure that everyone is afforded the benefits of a modern connected life.
These are the Best Network Performance Award, Leading Customer Experience and Operating Company of the Year.
Other awards that the company slipped under its sleeves in 2022 include the Best Use of ICT awards, the Spirit Award and the Relationships Award.
Worth celebrating is that MTN has proved to be the leading network provider as it won the Best Network Performance Award for the second year in a row, after having scored 645 out of 1 000 points on the Rohdes & Schwarz Network Performance Score in line with ETSI TR 103 559.
MTN attained a score for voice service of 346 out of 400 and a data service score of 297 out of 600.
MTN CEO Wandile Mtshali highlighted the company’s dedication to ensure quality experience for its customers.
He said a significant budget of the company is allocated towards network advancements on an annual basis to ensure a stable, reliable and quality experience that will also fulfil MTN’s desire to be an enabler in this changing world.
“We believe that every liSwati deserves the benefits of a modern connected life, which is why we are relentless in investing in our network,” he said.
Mtshali said their ability to satisfy customers was made possible by gauging their performance through independent assessors who assist in collecting customer feedback.
“The feedback we receive from customers is invaluable because it provides us with opportunities to address their needs thus improving experience. By taking an outside in approach, be it network, products or service we are able to identify gaps which I believe is the reason we have been awarded,” he said.
The MTN Group President and CEO Award for an excellently executed 21 Days of Y’ello Care 2022 is a highly contested award among the 21 MTN operations.
It was presented to MTN Eswatini’s CEO by the MTN Group President and Chief Executive Officer Ralph Mupita along with E1.8 million (US$100 000) prize money which the company will further invest towards CSI projects in the country.
