A milestone of reaching the 100th Episode of the Legacy Leaders Show! And this will be impossible without all of you great supporters who continue to engage with my content and encourage me and share your valuable feedback.

As we are celebrating with you this epic historic moment, I am beyond thrilled and honored to introduce you to our special guest of the 100th Episode: Marcia Y. She has been responsible for academic advisement, career development, preparation for postgraduate fellowships, development of diversity programs, and strategies to enhance student's educational experience and outcomes. And as an immigrant in the USA, I find this to be an essential role in the student's success. Today she is known as an exceptional mentor.

She co-directs the CUNY Hunter College Black Male Initiative. In addition, she is the author of the support materials for the upcoming PBS documentary on college success, "All the Difference."

Higher Education, Access and Diversity Matters!

In this 100th epic episode, you will discover what it takes to: Live the Legacy by Influencing A New Generation Of Mentors & Power Brokers.

There is nothing like a heartfelt compliment and appreciation for Marica's exceptional mentorship and ongoing support as it is from her past students, including Sola Adenekan. She continues to utilize her voice as a social entrepreneur to make an impact and difference by addressing today's social issues.

And there is nobody better that can teach us about both than Marcia herself! She comes from a long line of leaders and educators. She is the daughter of late Civil Rights leader Whitney M. Young, Jr. Her father is known as one of the most influential Power Brokers and an exceptional role model to model after.

Her father's legacy and success as The Power Broker was an instrumental role he played during the Civil Right Movement not only among MLK, President Kenedy, and President Johnson but also many other public figures.

“The truth is that there is nothing noble in being superior to somebody else. The only real nobility is in being superior to your former self.” ~ Whitney M. Young Jr.

Whitney Moore Young Jr. (1921-1971) was an American Civil Rights leader and head of the National Urban League. He was a social worker who strove during his lifetime to end discrimination in the workplace and provide equal access to economic opportunity for those deprived and socially marginalized. In 1969 he was awarded the highest civilian award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, by President Johnson for his commitment to civil rights.

Champions, you can't miss this powerful share by Marica filled with historical moments and golden nuggets that she learned erely from her father that we are still benefiting from today! These benefits are ranging from the power and use of data, leadership, and influence to labor laws and policies such as Equal Employment Opportunity and Social Corporate Responsibility.

“I am not anxious to be the loudest voice or the most popular. But I would like to think that at a crucial moment, I was an effective voice of the voiceless, an effective hope of the hopeless.” ~ Whitney M. Young Jr.

To discover what it takes to be The Power Broker and Exceptional Mentor today and why we need more of them in the future, you can't miss this episode.
