LinkedIn InMail template for Jobseekers

LinkedIn InMail template for Jobseekers

Welcome to August.

The fact that there are just 4 months left in the year as we enter the eighth month is surprising.

It is really distressing to realize how the days are flying while still waiting for your dream job.

Don't kill yourself, brothers and sisters; you are not the only one. This job search is in fact a job.

On a more positive note, visualize yourself working at that company and tell yourself, "I will get the job."

It's time to get to work now that you've said it.

As promised last week, we'll be sharing a few examples of cold emails you can send to prospective employers.

Make sure you have a strong profile before messaging a recruiter. If you're still not sure of your profile, read this article right away: How to Create A Great LinkedIn Profile

Love it or hate it, LinkedIn works.

Be more active on LinkedIn. Use it to grow your brand and “sell” yourself.

It’s the largest platform for professionals and recruiters typically use it more than IG or Twitter.

So...update your profile.

Send cold emails and messages to recruiters and people you’ll like to work with.

If you’re in the process of a #jobsearch, you’ll need to adjust to the new normal.

Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you, become proactive and go in search of opportunities instead.

Opportunity knocks only once, so don't miss out by messaging the recruiter with a simple "Do you have jobs?" or "I am interested in your advertisement on" message.

When writing a cold email, keep your focus on the receiver rather than on yourself. This is not the time to wax lyrical about how great you are than mushroom soup.

Instead, concentrate on the benefits they stand to gain by employing you.

Before sending them a message, make sure to be direct and to have done your homework.

Many job seekers don't use cold emails, despite the fact that they are quite effective. We've heard a lot of success stories from people who received a chilly email or message.

So how can you also achieve this?

  1. Make a list of, say, ten firms you really like.
  2. Visit their website and search for a decision maker you can contact by cold email or message.
  3. Search for them on #linkedin and connect with them, or if you can get their email, excellent. This may be the CEO or the head of HR; find them on LinkedIn and connect with them. If you can access their email, even better.
  4. Use the format below to send them a message explaining why you'll be a good fit for their company.

Trust us, this thing works, but the secret is to avoid sounding desperate and to concentrate on selling yourself.
