Leveraging your videos for better results.

Leveraging your videos for better results.

I work with a lot of businesses creating videos that they use in their marketing strategies. With the rise of social media and the affordability of video production more and more companies are producing videos. I see too many businesses fail to understand a few key concepts that would really help them leverage their videos even further. Follow these points and you'll see better video marketing results.

  1. Quality: The number one issue I tend to see businesses messing up with their video marketing is with not investing in the quality that represents their brand. Look I get it no one should judge a book by its cover but guess what a majority of people do. Consumers equate the quality of your video to the quality of your business. It sucks I get it, but it's true. You don't want to be seen as a used car dealership (no offense) when you're a luxury car dealership right? Make sure the quality of the videos you are producing represent your business because first impressions are crucial! * this doesn't apply to every video you do but i can expand on that in a different article*
  2. Messaging: I see way too many business fail to understand that they are not the hero in their messaging. Yes you are the one providing the service or product that allows the consumer to get the results they are wanting but they are the one achieving the results not you, not your product. When you take that glory away from them you lose out on a sale. Focus your messaging on being a guide, show them how you help them get to the outcome they are looking for. Work on creating a message that connects with them, not just about how awesome and cool you are and that you got some degree from some school... most people do not care. They only care about how they will be able to fix their problem. Hopefully that is with you, if you do your messaging right.
  3. Sharing: Look I have worked with clients that have spent thousands of dollars on a single video, only to post it once and never share again. You need to learn how to really leverage the videos you produce. Share it on the proper social media platforms, use it in your emails, use it in a meeting use it where ever you can. If the video has the right quality and the right messaging you will get results. I have seen clients do this well and the 5k they spent on one video brought in more than 40x that in revenue. That's the goal, to help you get as much ROI as possible on each video. So use your video, use it often and in the right circumstances.
  4. Posting: Some flaws I see businesses do when posting their videos is not turn on the auto caption feature. USE THIS FEATURE! A majority of people watching your video on social media are not watching with the sound turned on (hence why quality is so important as well) so turn on that feature, if you don't know how ask, I am more than happy to show you how. One of our clients was not using it and they weren't seeing the results they wanted, I walked them through how to turn it on, they boosted the post with auto captions on and the engagement levels went through the roof.

These are some of the major problems and issues why businesses aren't getting results with video. Do these and if you do them right, you will see an increase in engagement and sales! Focus on your client, create content they want to see and provide them with the information they need. If you have any questions about leveraging video to increase growth in your business reach out, I am happy to answer any questions.
