Laugh at it... Lessons from Failure, Part 7
This post is part of a series covering my main takeaways from Failure:Lab | Atlanta 2016. Others: Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Steven Carse, Co-Founder and CEO of King of Pops entertained the Failure:Lab | Atlanta audience in February with a story of the mishaps, missteps and mistakes made during the initial launch of their Tree Elves business. An ability to not take yourself too seriously is a characteristic found in many inspirational leaders, and Steven certainly seems to have that.
Steven's honesty, humility and his great sense of humor certainly shine through during this 20 minute tale of experimenting with a new venture that was - at least initially - a complete failure. The lesson I take away from this failure story is that your perspective may be the most important factor in determining whether or not something is truly a failure. You can find a way to enjoy looking back on any experience -- laugh-at and learn-from it all.
