Lack of clarity before you start recruiting.

Lack of clarity before you start recruiting.

What do we mean by that?

When you start recruiting you are not 100% clear on the profile of the candidate you are looking for.

Maybe because a lack of time or different people / departments within your company don't have the same view etc.

Now what happens?

A recruiter starts headhunting for you without a clear briefing.

That will almost always result in a shortlist of candidates that are not what you are looking for.

At this moment you might be 4 or 5 weeks in the recruitment process, and you have a shortlist with candidates that are not qualified.

The pressure and stress rise and this might lead to disagreements within your company.

You are running out of time!

How can you solve or prevent this?

Treat your recruiter as a trusted advisor.

If you involve them in an early stage, your expert recruiter will ask the right questions regarding the profile you are looking for.

They will not start the search before it is very clear what type of person you are looking for.

So, don't waste both your and the candidate's and the recruiter's time by starting a search that is not clear.

Include your recruiter early on, treat them like the experts they are and create a clear profile what you are looking for.
