Be kind. Be a leader.

I've recently read a super interesting article by Todd Nordstrom (contributor at Forbes and Inc)*. The article is about kindness and leadership. It made me think.

A top-down leadership style is no longer effective and recognised. The exercise of power is not leadership. A leader guides and empowers people. How can you be a real leader? Be kind!

A kind leader facilitates the creation of a positive work environment. The team is encouraged to collaborate, innovate and accept mistakes. A kind leader wants collaboration and constructive feedback more than exercising power. A kind leader does not avoid conflicts; adopting a positive and constructive intent is the way. As mentioned also in the article, recent studies proved that being kind to each other improves our happiness and productivity.

Leading with kindness is the way.
