Keep Calm - Handling Stress during your FAE's!
Taking the FAE can be stressful, especially with the pressure to do well. You've worked hard for this and are desperate to pass, which mean's of course, heightened stress.
Stress is normal and shows you want it. But like all things, there are ways to manage it so you can stay focused and confident. Here are some simple tips to help you keep your cool during FAE's.
1. Stay Active
Whether it's your usual sporting activity or a seaswim, maybe even a jog in the evening. Get outside each day and enjoy the "lovely" Irish summer we are experiencing.
You don't need me to tell you about the overwhelming benefits of just a small amount of activity in the evening or morning, but keeping this going during exam time will pay back tenfold when it comes to the stress reducing endorphins you'll get.
2. Eat Well
Don't get the Tesco meal deal or the Deliveroo! You heard it here, ground breaking stuff i know.
But fuel your body and mind right. You've done your prep, your reading, your ready. Take the time to get a nutritionally sound meal in and keep the water flowing. It's worth the effort when you wake up feeling good vs that Mcdonalds hangover.
3. Stay Positive and Trust Your Preparation
It’s easy to get caught up in negative thoughts, but try to stay positive. Remind yourself of all the hard work you’ve put in. Trust that your preparation will pay off.
Surround yourself with positive people, friends, family and try not to compare yourself to others. Everyone prepares differently, and that’s okay.
Final Thoughts
The FAE exam is challenging, but with the right approach, you can manage the stress and perform your best. Stay organised, take care of yourself, and remember to keep things in perspective. You’ve got this!
