Today, professionals and organizations all over the world are celebrating the second annual ‘International Human Resources Day’. It’s a great way to join in an international recognition of all the hardworking HR and people professionals around the world. The World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) has designated ‘HR Shaping the New Future’ as the 2021 theme for International HR Day. This theme implies that HR is leading a world of work that will be more inclusive, and flexible benefiting both employees and society as a whole.

2021 already has been a tough year for HR professionals, but they’ve risen to the occasion. We all should take a moment on ‘International HR Day’ to recognize the great work HR have done. Without their efforts and expertise, we wouldn’t be seeing productive and cohesive teams, thriving in a virtual workplace and ambiguous job market.

HR function, just few years before, has been considered as late adopter of technology. But HR helped organizations to survive and even grow during pandemic by creating more flexible and agile workforce. HR professionals have demonstrated how valuable and strategic their function is in the way they’ve responded to this crisis. In upcoming years, role of HR will be instrumental in aligning the organizational culture with flexibility, stability and sustainability using technology. Actions of HR will be more meaningful, transparent and data-driven helping organizations to grow in changed business environment. I’d like to thank all HR professionals for their contribution. Big round of applause for them!
