HRH Prince Gharios and Sir Shefik Join Forces With Anna's House to Combat Domestic Violence in Dallas for 12th Annual Gala
DALLAS — A growing army of heroes, who have been victorious enough to make it out alive, are now giving to the cause, and fighting back to help others. Media personality and philanthropist Sir Shefik Macauley (known mononymously as Shefik) (https://shefik.info) of the multiple award winning, nationally syndicated radio show "Shefik presents Invocation" (https://invocation.co) is once again joining forces with the non-profit organization Communities of Tomorrow-DFW and Anna's House Domestic Violence Shelter to combat domestic violence in Dallas, Texas. Encompassing a program providing women facing hardships with a safe and productive environment to get back on track to financial, mental, and physical wellness, their combined work is a community pillar, as Shefik and Anna's House collectively advocate for the fight against domestic violence.
Shefik has reached a notable milestone of 30 years, dedicating decades of his mindset, time, efforts, skill sets, and innate resources to the mission of Communities of Tomorrow-DFW and its various programs. The organization's founder Dame Eva Miles has reached an even greater milestone of 35 years, supporting the community through her strength, courage, and drive.
Anna's House is a partnership program of A Way Out Project (https://www.awayoutproject.org), which is an administrative, programmatic, and fiscally sound proactive institution, taking leadership on a local, state, and national level. In doing so, the entity serves as a major anchor for supporting and developing initiatives for funding that facilitate the positive growth and development of the Black community. These progressive initiatives promote change and community ownership.
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, starting at 6 p.m. CT (7 p.m. ET), Anna's House will present its 12th annual celebration and fundraising gala, at DoubleTree by Hilton, 1981 North Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas 75080. "Anna's House teaches self-reliance, self-sufficiency, responsibility, and works to assist in the development or re-establishment of confidence and belief in one's self," explains Eva Miles (Founder, Anna's House). "With these tools, women leave Anna's House prepared to face the world with a totally new outlook and belief in their ability not just to survive, but to thrive. With Anna's House, I truly believe that no one deserves to be physically or emotionally abused, and no one deserves to remain in a state of despair, in a city as academically, economically, and socially advantaged as Dallas, Texas. Anna's House seeks to provide the safety net that will offer a second chance to become a contributing part of this vibrant city and all it has to offer."
By donating to Anna's House, you will be making an invaluable contribution that will help expand support efforts, contribute to the organization's sustainability, and ensure that help goes to the communities that need it most. Both cooperate and individual volunteer efforts are welcomed and appreciated. There are several ways on how to donate to the organization.
