How to match with the contractor? 4 keypoints.

Searching for a contractor can come with its fair share of challenges.

Trust can be a major issue as you're entrusting your project to a stranger. And you should pay him or her money 😂

Quality concerns may arise – will the work meet your standards?

Additionally, determining the scope of tasks and costs can be a huge headache.

Sometimes, I also looking for a contractors, and 90% of them has the problems with timeline and quality.

Based on my personal experience and cases from our team we improved our business process to exclude such problems.

At this post I would like to show 4 problems and 4 decisions that works in Rondesignlab

1. Trust Problem

Create a list of evaluation criteria for contractors, including experience, reputation, financial stability, and compliance with project requirements.

For me this is the must, before each search I do the research.

In Rondesignlab we always provide all information that could increase trust, real communications with our previous clients, source files, previous projects.

If Ford Motor Company, Samsung Electronics or Colgate-Palmolive trust us, new clients could move forward as well.

2. Cost Problem.

If I would like to order or buy something, I would like to have price before. No matter what it is digital service or organic tomatoes on the food market.

Sometimes the better case is create the two price options for each steps of the service, or create the one more estimation, once the task changed or reestimate it. The proof of costs are the brands which cooperates with the company previously and the solutions that companies could create based on business requirements.

3. Quality

Responsibility for quality lies not only with the executor but also with the client. If the task is not formulated correctly, the executor won't be able to complete it.

As a client, I request a minimum of two examples similar to my project before we begin our collaboration. However, in our company, we adhere to the rule that we should have a specialist with the right expertise and three to five cases similar to the client's request.

4. Task or Problem

Any problem can be described and broken down into a series of tasks. In the world of business, it's not always clear what works and what doesn't. That's why I, or any other founder, will seek someone who has dealt with a similar situation and had a positive outcome as a solution.

In cases where there is no predefined task but a problem exists, the key is to get a proper and quick start with fast results. This is essential for testing hypotheses so that a business or service can quickly determine the next steps.

At Rondesignlab, we handle such requests in our Trial phase, with the first results delivered within 2 weeks. I would very much like to see a similar timeline and service available in other companies.

To tackle these problems, do your homework, ask for recommendations, and make sure your contract spells out the project's details and costs clearly. Keeping open lines of communication with your contractor is crucial for a smooth project. By staying vigilant and proactive, you can overcome these challenges and have a successful contractor-client partnership.
