HOW LONG TO HOLD HANDS? IN BUSINESS?
This NL has four parts:
1. How long to hold hands in business? A direction question.
2. Entrepreneurship advice from Alan Sugar.
3. The art of NOT CARING by Lachlan Brown
4. WHO AM I? An audio question for you.
𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦: 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚?
When do we hold the hand
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗴𝗼?
Be it our kids
Or new colleagues.
Sometimes we never hold their hand
And leave them to their own, figuring out.
When we never hold their hands,
They will not learn the ropes the way they should,
Perhaps never!
When we never leave their hand,
they remain forever dependent.
𝗡𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀,
as a parent or as a leader.
Where then lies the balance?
That moment when you know you can take the hand off.
From the bike seat you were holding on,
that particular optimal speed when you know
They have the balance, the momentum,
𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻.
That moment
Ephemeral.

And when you don’t, you set a pre-specified time limit and let go.
That’s the only way for the second level of leadership to come up front.

- If you want something bad enough, you’ll make it happen.
- No one is going to do it for you, and no government program will pave the way.
