HOW HAS Q1 GONE FOR YOU?
Here we are at the end of Q1, 2024. Already.....can you believe it! How has the the past 3 months gone for you so far? Have you achieved some of your goals?
As I embark on another quarter, I find myself reflecting on the past quarter and considering the changes I'd like to make for a more fulfilling year overall. Like many of you, I'm contemplating whether it's a year for repetition, a few improvements, or a refreshing breath of change.
For me, I want this year to signify an opportunity for subtle but impactful adjustments. I've resolved to prioritise self-care, both physically and emotionally, (I learnt a lot about that after knee replacement surgery last month) and to be more present for my loved ones and colleagues. Learning and personal growth are also high on my agenda, recognising their significance on my overall well-being.
Acknowledging the need for change is the first step in breaking the cycle of repetition. Just as the pre-flight reminder instructs us to secure our own oxygen masks before assisting others, taking care of ourselves with compassion, kindness, and love is crucial before extending support to others. I've enlisted the assistance of a coach to guide and keep me focused on these positive changes.
In the spirit of fostering resilience and a positive mindset, I'd like to share some affirmations that I often use to help me reframe my thinking:
"I can get through this." Similar phrase: "As much as I hate this, I can survive it."
“I still have things to be grateful for." Similar phrase: "I may be struggling, but I can find a way to be thankful for the good things in my life."
"Life is hard." Similar phrase: "I won’t always be happy with how things play out. But it’s part of the journey."
"This, too, shall pass." Similar phrase: "Each day is an opportunity to feel a little better."
"What can I learn from this?" Similar phrase: "There’s always a gift, even in the darkest experiences — I just need to figure out what it is. How can I use this experience to empower and transform me?"
Hopefully some of these affirmations will also support you, as you navigate the challenges and joys that 2024 has in store. Remember, change starts with a mindset particularly if you do not want to repeat the past.
I trust this message finds you well and ready for the many possibilities that await you. Wishing you a spectacular quarter ahead filled with success, joy, and meaningful moments.
