How to Grab Recruiters' Attention on LinkedIn
Before I get into today’s newsletter, I just wanted to remind you:
On September 19th, I’m officially opening the doors to my ‘Get Noticed on LinkedIn’ masterclass for the first time.
Over 650 people have already signed up for the waitlist.
And it’s not too late to be a part of it.
The masterclass teaches you how to get noticed by recruiters on LinkedIn.
I’ll be sharing my entire LinkedIn playbook with you.
I'll review and critique LinkedIn profiles and show you how to perfect them.
And you’ll discover how I built a movement of over 3 million followers and became one of the top voices on LinkedIn.
Finally, you’ll learn how to use these same strategies to get noticed by recruiters.
By the end of it, you’ll stand out and get the attention you deserve.
Join the waitlist if you’re interested
There is no other tool or platform that is as powerful as LinkedIn when it comes to job search, or growing a coaching or consulting business.
Learning how to use LinkedIn properly will give you an immense competitive edge.
For example, do you want to know one of the easiest ways to get noticed by recruiters on LinkedIn?
It's your LinkedIn Recommendations!
Imagine you're a recruiter, and as you quickly scroll through a candidate's profile you see this:
"Jordan is one of the most creative, insightful and tuned-in marketers I've had the pleasure to work with. He and I worked on a client campaign that got the product national prominence on a tiny budget."
As a longtime recruiter myself I can tell you this - I'd stop and examine that profile.
I'd think, "I'd definitely like to meet Jordan."
Jordan has a long string of similarly fantastic recommendations in his LinkedIn profile.
How did he get them?
He doesn't ask for recommendations. His friends and contact are busy. He doesn't want to impose on them.
Instead, he regularly recommends his professional contacts and former teammates on LinkedIn, writing thoughtful, specific recommendations like the one his former colleague Sarah left for him (above).
Jordan leaves unsolicited recommendations for folks he sometimes hasn't interacted with in years - and gets lovely, heartfelt recommendations back from them at least 80% of the time along with friendly updates on his ex-colleagues' families and careers.
Jordan values the members of his network - even people he doesn't see very often - and tells them so.
This is just one of many strategies that I’ll be teaching in-depth in the upcoming LinkedIn masterclass.
By the end of the masterclass, you’ll know exactly what to do to stand out from other applicants and get noticed. Here's to you!

3moThe things that annoy me the most is when an employer puts an ad up for a job, and a few days later after you applied they renew the same and you never get a phone call regarding your resume and skills: despite the fact you have most of the skills they are looking for, plus other skills as gravy. Plus you have the education and work experience that corresponds to that job. The other thing that bugs me is that you get a rejection letter from an employer and they still have the same job advert for 2-3 months posted on the internet or paper. You have the education and work experience and they still reject you? What do they want? Somebody to dance on their desk or hold a sign in front of them?

3moI only wonder, is 'recruiter' not one of the bullshit-jobs as marked bij the brilliant author & thinker David Rolfe Graeber (1961-2020), in his inspiring book 'Bullshit Jobs: A Theory'? Just wondering...

3moI completely understand how you feel—it's tough not hearing back from recruiters even when you’ve got the Open to Work banner up. I’m in the same boat and thinking about diving deeper into LinkedIn strategies to improve my visibility. Any tips on what’s been working for you?
