How To Deal With Bad Days
If you have ever woke up in a really bad funk? I mean just in a really foul mood? If so, here is my seven step formula to get out of it:
1. Silence.
Tell those voices in your head to shut up! You got this.
2. Meditate.
It’ll be hard to quiet that damn committee up in your head but if you stay with the mediation you can get them signing in harmony like Tibetan Monks! Om...
3. Move your ass!
Get to the gym or get outside and move. Emotions come from motion so get that adrenaline flowing. Personal Tip: Do not pick a fight with anyone who looks at you funny. Just saying.
4. Crank up the tunes!
Listen to songs that get your energy naturally jacked up! Music is a natural emotional amplifier, so stay away from those songs that make you want to crawl into a fetal position and suck your thumb...it’s not an empowering look for adults.
5. Focus on NOW.
“If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present.” ~Lao Tzu.
You can only control you! What you think. What you do. Take action and do something that will move your life forward. Don’t get trapped in regret or wishful thinking. Be here NOW!
6. Connect with positive people.
Stop having the solo pity party and reach out to your positive friends that can help you exchange some of that negative energy for some more positive energy. You have at least one positive friend! If you don’t, message me!
7. Smile and laugh.
As simple as this sounds it’s true that a negative funk does not last long when you smile and laugh at the situation. Shit does happen in life because that’s life’s job to shake you up from time to time so you grow. Accept it. Smile and laugh. Remember this about life: you’re not going to get out alive so enjoy the ride and the people who share the journey with you along the way.
