How to Attract More Business Using a New Type of Marketing that Starts in Your Mind & Soul

Oprah Winfrey started it all, of course. She pioneered the soul-seeking movement in 2011 with her Super Soul Sunday program. It inspired millions of individuals through 2021

Now, businesses are joining the Enlightenment movement because they're tired of the 80s mindset of greed and profits. They're shifting away from the masculine energy of building marketing campaigns solely around clicks, conversions, metrics, and funnels.

I'm on board. An aptitude test I took early in my career said I had the heart of a nun, so embracing my faith and authenticity on my marketing platforms feels natural.

A soulful business is one that serves the growth of the soul, both the owner's and others'. It can also mean questioning patriarchal priorities while building nourishment into contracts.

Are you using New Age Marketing?

It's not for everyone, but new-age marketing taps into the spirit of the feminine divine. It is a more expansive approach that uses different terms and tactics far outside the scope of integrated marketing.

Surf the web or review LinkedIn profiles, and you’ll see spiritual phrases being used more frequently, like:

  1. Soulful marketing for the heart-conscious

  2. The mystical path to marketing

  3. Spirit-led businesses and branding

  4. Holistic and transformational consulting

  5. The calm creative

  6. The corporate psychic

  7. Living in flow

  8. Activating sacred success

Breathe Deeply into Your God-Given Gifts

Geiger Media embraces new-age marketing tactics. Our core offering is three-dimensional marketing, which is a pathway to connecting clients to customers holistically and for life. This marketing style works well for female-owned small businesses or environmental companies that want to rise to a higher calling rather than simply turning a profit.

For instance, Dr. Michelle Robin runs a chiropractic and wellness clinic. Her higher calling is to stop generational trauma. Dr. Robin started a movement called Small Shifts Big Changes, which gives scholarships to young mothers and families needing access to wellness education and counseling services.

Sage Lavine runs a program called Women Rocking Business. One of the core principles for success in the program is to identify a calling higher than your business to serve. Giving back is essential to creating flow in your business.

Companies like Dr. Robin’s, Your Wellness Connection, and Sage Lavine’s, Women Rocking Business, are leaving legacies by helping others succeed and sharing profits with like-minded charities.

On the other hand, conservative, often male-dominated businesses might not be as comfortable with the woo-woo, spiritual speak involved in new-age marketing.

I doubt  IBM, John Deere, or Brut Cologne will launch a Super Bowl ad in 2025 that aligns with their stakeholders’ souls. And that’s OK.

Does the Universe or the Almighty Belong in Your Office?

Companies like Patagonia go all in with authentic, spirit-led marketing. Its mission statement is to save our home planet. Patagonia shares blogs about subjects such as a surfer named Yusei Ikariyma saving the waters and uniting his community.

Soul-led Solutions LLC is a natural energy company on a mission to unite humanity under a single power grid. Its vision statement, which is posted on its home page, is to “Produce sustainable energy from God-given resources by economically harvesting energy from the sun, earth, water, air, and fire.

When was the last time you saw God mentioned on a company webpage besides a church?

Soulful Reading to Elevate Your Business

If you’d like to align your business with your altruistic and spiritual values, here are three books to start with:

  1. When Business Is Love: The Spirit of Hästens―At Work, At Play, and Everywhere in Your Life by Jan Ryde, CEO of family-owned Swedish bed manufacturer Hästens

  2. Spiritually Intelligent Leadership: How to Inspire by Being Inspired by Yosi Amram, PhD

  3. The Soul Sourced Entrepreneur by Christine Kane

I look forward to reading chapter 24 of Kane's book. It's titled Real is the New Strong. Embracing your Funk.

How are you embracing new-age marketing and your authentic self to succeed today on your terms?

What a great topic, Brenda Geiger, thanks! For me, seeing more women moving into leadership in all spheres means an opportunity to see more wholeness in work - more integration of our whole selves. And our spirituality is part of us, along with our values, emotions, needs, energies and motivations. To work and live for higher purpose beyond ourselves seems to me much more satisfying than the self-focused model presented as success.
