Happy Hours!

"There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age." -Sophia Loren

Dear Investors & Friends:

Welcome to this SundayReads.

My mother, at 75, teaches us the resilience of the human spirit. Despite her struggles with depression and its daunting side effects, she finds refuge in her passions: painting, yoga, and cherished gatherings with friends. Yesterday, to celebrate her 75th birthday, we threw a vibrant party, an-only-friends party filled with music, dance, and laughter, rekindling the youthful glow in her eyes.

Watching mom in the midst of this celebration, surrounded by friends, dancing to the rhythm of her favorite tunes, was like watching the years fall away. She was vibrant, energized by the love and laughter that filled the air. Last night, she whispered a thank you that echoed her deep gratitude, her eyes glistening with tears of joy.

In anticipation of this milestone birthday, my mother undertook a heartfelt project: she created 75 miniature paintings, one for each year of her life. These artworks were her gifts to her friends, tokens of gratitude for the joy they've brought into her life. When each guest received their unique painting, the room was filled with awe and appreciation, deepening the connections at this joyful gathering.

I want to be like Mom.

Seeing her like this inspires me to embrace life with the same courage and positivity. I admire how she always places herself at the front, trying her best regardless of the challenge. Whether it's at the gym lifting weights or dancing carefree, she doesn't hold back or apologize for her age. Her confidence and ability to laugh at herself are qualities I aspire to as I grow older.

I want to be like Mom. From her, I learn that trying is better than giving up.

I want to be at the front like her, doing my best.

I want to keep moving as well as I can and be proud of being in the moment, never feeling sorry for showing my age.

Our minds are like gardens. Positive thoughts and emotions help keep our mental garden healthy, just like sunlight and water help flowers grow. On the other hand, stress and sadness are like weeds that can take over if we let them. It’s important to keep feeding our minds with joy and positivity, and she is making all the efforts to do that.

Aging happens to everyone, but how we handle aging—physically, mentally, and emotionally—is up to us. In her reflection, I see the person I aim to become—embracing each year with grace, humour, and an unbreakable will to thrive.

Happy 75th Mom!

Until the next week.

Warm Regards
