Be Good To People: Show Care and Empathy During these Difficult Times

This is a segment from my latest LinkedIn Learning offering. It was recorded before the current Covid-19 pandemic. The course is for new sales professionals, but the message applies to everyone no matter what job we may have. In these uncertain and unnerving times we need to reach out to people more often, offering care and empathy.

From my course: Prepare Yourself for a Career in Sales

Of all the great lessons I learned from Dean in the ~5 years I worked for him, the one I revisit most often and regard as gospel is that when our colleagues and clients (and of course loved ones) are faced with personal difficulties, we must proactively reach out. When a client organization experienced layoffs, Dean's sage direction was to drop the to-do list, pick up the phone, and lend an ear to everyone affected. Words to live by. Thank you, Dean Karrel !
