Global Award For The B!G Idea
The B!G Idea has scooped its first international accolade.
At the Think Global Awards on Wednesday 19th April, the programme was announced as the winner in the Education & eLearning category.
Our creative thinking programme, which is currently delivered across Irish schools and education centres, emerged victorious despite facing strong competition from a number of innovative education programmes in Australia, Asia, Europe, the US and the UK.
“This is a massive win for us at The B!G Idea and a testament to the hard work achieved by our small team, our incredible teachers, mentors and partners. But mostly, it reflects clearly that the judges understood the huge impact that this education programme is having on young Irish learners,” says Kim MacKenzie-Doyle, CEO and Founder of The B!G Idea.
The awards recognise the global success of individuals and organisations, and are supported by the Think Global Forum, an international hub established to generate creative, insightful, and inspiring strategic thinking across global topics.
“We are always teaching our young learners that one big idea can change our world. Well now, we can celebrate that our very own B!G Idea programme has reached across the globe. We are humbled and grateful to receive this global recognition for the work that we are doing,” says Kim.
Creativity has been identified as the top skill required by 2025, as identified by the World Economic Forum.
Through its 14-week programme for young learners in Transition Year, Leaving Cert Applied and Youthreach centres, The B!G Idea is bridging the gap between education and industry by teaching the transformative skill of creative thinking.
“This empathetic approach to problem-solving is helping us to create an environment for young people to realise their potential and become changemakers, leaders and trailblazers that can positively impact their own communities and wider society. We recognise that our students are global citizens and our future innovators,” Kim says.
