Get the scoop on Penn State Startup Week’s Entrepreneur-chip Creamery flavor
A Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream flavor will get a new name during the months of February and March to celebrate Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC, a university-wide event taking place March 18 – 22, 2024.
Penn State Startup Week provides students an opportunity to explore Penn State’s vast entrepreneurial ecosystem, learn from successful Penn State alumni and connect with innovative peers through fun, hands-on activities. The temporarily re-named “Entrepreneur-chip Monkey Business” flavor will be available before the event to bring awareness to the annual entrepreneurship celebration.
“Penn State Startup Week sponsoring a Creamery ice cream flavor isn’t just about indulging in delicious treats; it’s a scoop of support for entrepreneurship, creativity, and the vibrant spirit of our student community,” said Ashley Palmer, marketing and communications director for Startup Week. “Through the universal joy of ice cream, we’re bringing awareness to the exciting Startup Week events, where ideas flourish, connections are made, and dreams are churned into reality.”
In its eighth year, Startup Week will feature themed days throughout the week:
Monday, March 18 — Student Entrepreneurs
Tuesday, March 19 — Funding Your Venture
Wednesday, March 20 — Social Impact
Thursday, March 21 — Technology
Building off last year’s success, Startup Week is excited to bring back alumni speakers, including Haley McClain Hill, founder and CEO of TORCH Warriorwear, and Cindy Kolarik, Executive Director at The Jared Box Project. Additionally, Startup Week is thrilled to welcome new faces, including Justin Leusner, Founder of TDAY Sports; Mary Richardson, Founder of Bindr; and Justin Rosenberg, Founder & CEO of honeygrow, who will do a live recording of Invent Penn State’s Dare to Disrupt podcast.
Attendees are encouraged to register for events ahead of time via the Startup Week schedule.
The Entrepreneur-chip flavor will be available for scooping in the Berkey Creamery’s retail store for two months. Half-gallons will be available for purchase in the store or online. Additionally, make sure to stop by any of the featured Startup Week events held in the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub to try the flavor throughout the week.
“We are thrilled to add the Entrepreneur-chip flavor to our line-up this spring,” said Jim Brown, Berkey Creamery’s manager of sales and marketing. “This first-time Monkey Business flavor collaboration adds a delightful twist to our rich tradition, and we appreciate Startup Week’s support in making the Creamery student experience even sweeter.”
Entrepreneur-chip Monkey Business will be available on the creamery’s website starting Feb. 1.
