Alongside Meta’s recent announcement of a subscription-based option for users to avoid ads, TikTok recently announced that they’ll be offering the same deal for users to have the choice to pay for an ad-free experience on the platform. These offerings are hugely based off new regulations in the EU where users can opt-out of personalization that uses data to customize their experience, including ads. So instead of dealing with a worse ad experience, you just pay for it to go away entirely.  Would you pay $4.99 per month for ad-free viewing on TikTok?

Meta has recently released a whitepaper that runs through the shifts in the current digital landscape to give marketers their perspective on where the industry is heading in terms of the most effective marketing strategies. We love to see the callout of influencers and short-form video on slides 7 & 8 as these are two areas that gen.video has predicted to be a key growth strategy for brands utilizing digital strategies for years. The whitepaper is free so be sure to check it out.
