Finding Peace: How to Stay Calm When Life Doesn't Go as Planned

Finding Peace: How to Stay Calm When Life Doesn't Go as Planned

🧠 Sometimes life doesn't go as planned.

It's easy to get discouraged.

Unless -

You remember that you can bring a sense of calm and a peaceful state-of-mind to any situation.

Here's the kicker:

The quality of your thinking is a reflection of your state-of-mind.

If you're in a low state-of-mind feeling frustrated, annoying, or discouraged, the quality of your thinking will reflect that.

You will likely have thoughts that will continue to race and loop through your frustration and annoyance.

If you're in a higher state-of-mind feeling calm and at ease, even when life isn't perfect, the quality of your thinking will also reflect that.

You will likely have thoughts that are clear, insightful, and innovative. You will know what is your next right action step.

This is why it's important to maintain a clear state-of-mind, even when life's circumstances are not going as you expected.

A higher and clear state-of-mind (sometimes also referred to as peace-of-mind) is a place to come from rather than a destination to get to.

There will never be a day when work, home, and life in general are finally running flawlessly so that you can slow down and relax a bit.

Instead, live from peace-of-mind.

Feel calm. Quiet your mind.

Slow down and schedule time to relax.

Then, from a higher state-of-mind, you will experience more mental clarity, poise, and confidence.

The thinking that comes through will reflect this state, providing innovative and fresh thinking to move through whatever challenge you're working on with ease.

This is a different way to live than most of us have grown up believing is possible.

We've been told to work hard. Rise and grind. Don't relax until the job is done (and is the job ever really done?)

This other way is a new way of Being

It's about being present now. It's about feeling content with everything you already have. It's about having a quiet and clear mind to continue facing life's challenges. Focus and productivity is sharpened as we clear mental clutter and make way for our best self.

As I have been experimenting with being a business owner, mother, and wife in this new way of Being, I have seen my life transform.

My mind is calm and clear. My stress, worry, and occasional anxiety passes through with ease. I'm a better and more present mother and I'm a more loving wife.

And now I love helping other driven Type-A's do the same. Because if I can do it, you can do it too.

This week's LinkedIn workshop on Improving Procrastination was a success!

In this workshop I share the neuroscience, mindfulness, and mindset tools behind how to improve procrastination so that you can quiet your mind, feel calmer, and enjoy life more.

I also share a time management technique that you can begin using right away to tackle those annoying items on your to-do list that never seem to get done.

I also discuss how to improve your morning routine and prioritize a self care exercise in the morning so that you can incorporate more work/life balance into your life.
