Who are the Federal Agencies that 'Love' SDVOSBs?

If you are a "service-disabled veteran-owned small business" (SDVOSB), you should only pursue federal agencies that put their 'SDVOSB set asides' where their mouth is.

TOP AGENCIES USING SDVOSB SET ASIDES

Many agencies claim they do well by SDVOSBs, but the data tells a different story. Don't waste time chasing agencies that can't demonstrate their commitment to SDVOSBs.

TOP AGENCIES USING SDVOSB SET ASIDES

Around the Country

On September 7th, GovCon Chamber of Commerce president Neil McDonnell was privileged and honored to speak to small businesses at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He and Gus Phelps were excited to meet so many members of our federal contracting community at this well-attended face-to-face gathering.

Neil focused on the 3 main points for success in the Federal Market:

  1. The Three (3) revenue streams

  2. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for federal sales activity.

  3. 'Strategic' Relationships with federal buyers and teammates.

Thank you to Donald Lamar for the invitation to come down to Georgia and support their entrepreneurial mission.

TIP | 6 Ways to Improve Your LinkedIn Profile Name

LinkedIn is designed for building professional relationships – not for legal contracts. Pay attention to the tone of your profile.

  1. Use the exact same name that you use at networking events. What do people really call you?  Jim vs James?

  2. Capitalize both your first and last name (first impressions matter)

  3. Delete any extra information after your name (except Jr., III, etc). No prefix. No degrees. No messages. Nothing.

  4. Move any formal titles or academic initials to the appropriate education and employment sections. Certifications can also be featured in a separate section.

  5. If your name may be difficult to pronounce, use the "Add Name Pronunciation" feature in the LinkedIn app profile section.

  6. Use the Headline section under your name section for your tagline or marketing message.

QUICK FIX

Refresh your LinkedIn profile name and remove anything that is distracting. In the weeks ahead, I'll show you many ways to maximize LinkedIn for success in the Federal Market.
