FB discontinues its monthly updates. Here are the latest updates to ads manager in August in case you've missed them.
Seems strange to discontinue what was a useful update service but now updates can be seen within ads manager on a weekly basis.
Week of August 24–30
Optimization for custom events is enabled
You can now optimize App Install ad delivery for the outcomes you care most about. Add your true business objectives as custom events, and we’ll strive to show your ad to people most likely to convert.
New branded content recommendation
When you’re making an ad that seems to feature a third party brand, you’ll now see a suggestion to use the branded content tag. This can help improve your ad’s performance if you’re working with a business partner.
Product audience default has changed
Now when you create an ad set within a catalog sales campaign, you'll reach a broad audience of people by default.
Call Ads available for 3 campaign objectives
Now you can see which campaign objectives include Call Ads as an option. This helps you pick the right one when you want to let people call you from the ad.
Week of August 17–23
New Story ad format variation
Now when you create a single image or video ad, it will include the new Facebook Story End Scene Style Stories format. To see a preview, click View More Variations in the top right of the ad preview, and then expand Stories Format.
Customize Ad Creative for Instagram Reels
Now you can customize the media and text shown when your ad runs in Instagram Reels. To customize your ad creative, first select the Instagram Reels placement, then go to the preview of your ad and click the Edit button above the preview pane.
More Eligible With Video Feeds
Now you can use lead ads and the single media format with Facebook Video Feeds.
Create rules to automate recommendations
Now you can create rules that help stop your ads bidding against each other. In Ads Manager, select Create A New Rule, and you’ll now have the option to create rules from templates. Choose a template, then set up a rule to avoid auction overlap.
Week of August 10–16
Updates to View Charts
We’ve updated the chart view for your campaigns, ad sets and ads so that it’s easier to find relevant insights for them. Now when you select View Charts for a campaign, ad set or ad, you’ll find a new Performance Overview chart that shows how key metrics are trending over time. You can customize the metrics and hover over the chart to see when you’ve made significant edits. You’ll also be able to view recommendations, warnings and errors when they’re available.
Week of August 3–9
Create Campaigns with Multiple Message Destinations
Now you can select multiple messaging app destinations to receive messages for ads that click to message. Reach people on the app where a conversation is most likely to happen.
A/B test ad sets in Ads Manager
Now you can A/B test existing ad sets in Ads Manager. When you create a new A/B test, you can select the ad sets you want to compare without duplicating or creating new ones.
