Empowering game creators

Empowering game creators

Games are the most relevant, prevalent, and culturally significant form of entertainment on the planet.

We are all born to play. From our earliest age, playing is how we learn, how we form bonds, discover the world and ourselves. Games have a unique ability to connect us across geographies, create intimacy across distances and break down barriers that separate us. Whether you play games to compete, socialize, escape, relax, explore, be creative or just to have fun, 2020 was a year when playing games helped get us through.

It's no surprise engagement grew 20% year-over-year and the industry is closing in on $200 billion. All of this is thanks to the power of play and the incredible game creators who conjure these amazing worlds.

That's why I'm excited to lead the Gaming Ecosystem organization (GEO) at Microsoft.

GEO has a clear mission: bring more games to more gamers by empowering game creators to realize their dreams.

We help creators create.

Through the full spectrum of Microsoft services, GEO is unlocking technical, creative and economic opportunities for game developers everywhere -- resulting in richer gaming experiences for anyone making games and everyone playing them.

Whether it is Visual Studio, Github, PlayFab, Xbox publishing or Azure cloud, our tools and services make game development for developers to concept and design to multiplayer and digital publishing through LiveOps acquisition, retention, and monetization.

In GEO, everything we do puts the game creator at the center.

Sound like an amazing job? It is!

And, because of the incredible momentum and focus on gaming, our team is growing! Now's your opportunity to empower game creators yourself.

We're looking for the following types of team members:

  • Backend developers with skills like programming in one or more of C#, C, C++ or Java and working with at least one of RESTful APIs, .NET Framework or .NET CORE.
