EmpowerHERing Leadership
Hello Friend,
Every year, International Women's Day celebrates the amazing things women do. This year's theme, "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," is powerful. It's a call to action, not just for grand gestures, but for everyday investments - the most impactful of which might be the ones we make in ourselves.
Imagine a world where every woman who wants to be a leader has the tools and support to make it happen. Imagine companies full of different ideas, led by brilliant people from all backgrounds. That's the future we can build, one investment at a time.
Investing in yourself as a leader isn't just about climbing the corporate ladder. It's about using your voice, learning new skills and feeling confident in your abilities. It's about knowing what makes you special and overcoming challenges with grace.
This International Women's Month, I urge you to invest in yourself. Take a class, find a mentor or just give yourself time to think and grow. Remember, the most important investments often start with yourself.
And to the leaders out there, invest in the women around you. Help them grow, provide mentorship and give them a podium to accelerate.
Let's make International Women's Month more than just a celebration. This is a call to action, to invest in yourself and others, let's create the dream future together.
Around the World of HR
Leaders Top Priority
HR leaders across the world have identified the development of effective leaders as their top priority this 2024, as revealed by a recent study conducted by The Hackett Group.
Based on the feedback obtained from 375 executives, the report indicates that 65% of respondents are prioritising the development of "effective leaders for a changing business and workplace."
This is the second year in a row that leaders are prioritising this objective, according to the report.
Tony DiRomualdo, the Senior Research Director at The Hackett Group, has linked this trend to the urgent requirement of preparing managers to navigate the organisation through challenges arising from business disruption and workplace transformation.
In a statement, DiRomualdo emphasized, "HR executives clearly see the importance of this objective." He noted that 65% of study participants, who are embarking on a major initiative in 2024, have prioritized addressing this objective, surpassing the emphasis placed on any other objective within the top 10.
Prioritising the training of leaders is crucial, given the significant role that effective leadership plays in addressing challenges and guiding organisations toward success in a rapidly changing environment.
