Is east coast outpacing the west coast?

I took a look at city-data.com on a lazy sunday afternoon for select cities on west coast and east coast (where admittedly I happen to have investments). The results surprised me. The next time an east coaster says to me "we dont have real estate appreciation like you guys do in CA", I'll delight them by my reply "that's right, you have higher!"
