E2E and The Independent announce E2E 100.

I am delighted to share with you that further to the demand from E2E Ambassadors and entrepreneurs from our community more broadly, that E2E will soon be launching E2E 100 in association with The Independent. 

The E2E 100 is a significant initiative designed, through the publication of six tracks/league tables, coupled with large-scale receptions and a series of associated content, to showcase the very best British companies that are excelling, experiencing consistent growth, and presenting disruptive business strategies creating an impact not just in their own sector, but also on a nationwide and in some cases a global scale. 

The Independent, the UK’s largest quality, digital news brand with over 22.3m monthly unique users, who are actively interested in business and finance, is a fitting media partner to help us shine a spotlight on innovators and changemakers across the UK. We will be highlighting their ideas and drive for positive change, but also take this opportunity to get under the skin of today’s business challenges. 

Six E2E 100 tracks will be revealed this year, focusing on distinct, but equally important aspects of UK business, celebrating the companies and individuals making the biggest impacts in each category. Each track will chart the top 100 UK businesses within the category, celebrating the visionary leaders behind each one of these success stories, and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs in the process.  The tracks are independently compiled by Go Live Data and Experian according to specific criteria and official data.  

The E2E Female 100 will be the first to launch on 17th March 2023 and will be celebrated at the House of Commons, over dinner for the 100 companies featured and inviting some of the UK’s business leaders. With International Women’s Day also in March, it seems appropriate that the E2E Female 100 is launched in the same month. Also, we wanted to highlight how well female-led businesses have done, contributing substantially to the UK economy, despite lacking significantly in funding in comparison to their male-led counterparts. The track contains the fastest-growing female-led businesses in the UK, ranked according to the growth rate of the number of employees over the past four years. 

Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of any economy. At E2E, we have focused on supporting entrepreneurs over the last decade and, with the current economic climate, it is critical that we recognise and celebrate the contribution of the UK’s fastest-growing companies and better understand the future challenges that they face. We welcome the 100 into our E2E ecosystem to support them with their extraordinary entrepreneurship.

The recent pandemic and cost of living crisis have generated start-ups at record levels. The UK has one of the best start-up ecosystems in the world, however, our world ranking for scale-up entrepreneurship has dropped to 25th place.  E2E 100 is also designed to correct that imbalance, provide recognition and a platform where the UK’s innovators and business generators will flourish. 

I am grateful to Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL, the Vice-President of the CBI (formerly President) who will be hosting the launch receptions for each of the E2E 100 tracks at The Houses of Parliament.
