DUX was started out of frustration!
Did you know there are more than 9,000 edtech start-ups in the country? Did you know more than 30% of these were started in 2021 alone?!
An obvious question that gets asked to us every single time we talk about the company is what is the reason for us to exist when so many companies are already solving the problem?
Honest confession - DUX was born out of frustration!
- Frustration from seeing education get so expensive that it became a luxury.
- Frustration from seeing teachers become sales agents and classes becoming focussed on selling courses
- Frustration from seeing content take a front seat and teachers take a back seat
- Frustration from seeing students having to ask doubts through chats
- Frustration from seeing education shift from interactive way to broadcast way
- Frustration of seeing feedbacks leaving the organic territory and getting translated to just charts and graphs
- Frustration of students not able to leave their regular tuitions despite subscribing to these expensive products (at times more than one!)
and so much more!
And its not that the life before such edtech start-ups was perfect. When we looked back; we experienced a suppressed frustration.
- Frustration from having to choose a teacher in a defined geographical radius
- Frustration of learning from teachers being restricted to just that one hour with no out of class support
- Frustration from not being able to interact with peers from other parts of the country; not being able to understand and experience what others might be
- Frustration of not getting a systematic feedback
- Frustration of all the content being locked in teacher’s home or mind!
We knew - and hand on your heart - you know too! It was time to change - it is time to change!
Or are you happy with the way things are or were? If not - it’s time to change..it’s time to do a retake
DUX is our retake on education.
