Do you think wealth is a good measure of success?

Do you think wealth is a good measure of success?

Today, on The 28th Of May 2021, I turned 40. This is something like a sweet spot. I cannot even imagine how time flew by. So fast!! I’m in the ’40s now… WOW…

Turning 40 feels like a big deal. In fact, it may be the beginning of my best decade 😉.

Did you know that at age 33 I started Filesie, after a decade of wonderful experience working for corporates like KDDI and others?

I left India at the age of 23 to pursue my higher studies in London. new country, new people, new Culture; a lot of excitement, worry of being alone, and many more. London is a place I learned the real definition of life.

London taught me how to live with just 150GBP in hand for a whole month. It taught me how to survive. It gave me courage, lots of confidence, and a lot more.

Well, why am I talking about all these S&^% ... Today morning, a couple of my friends, well-wishers, acquaintances & family members called to greet me, which is good, and I appreciate their love.

But one among them (I do not want to disclose.) asked me how successful I am, as an entrepreneur and how much money did, I make (sarcastically).

Well, obviously, I am not one among those unicorns (under 40) Billionaires, but quite successful.

Past 7 years of my entrepreneurial journey, I am able to.

1. Built unique competencies in digital marketing.

2. 1000’s of Man hours spent on R&D to help to reduce clients' marketing spent.

3. Built an incredibly talented team.

4. 200+ Happy Clients

5. Built Multi Award-winning Marketing Agency

6. Featured in the 40 Under 40 List

7. Filesie survived the Pandemic. We did it without borrowing

8. And many more to add during my entrepreneurial journey 😊

I followed my passion, my vision to bring SME’s online and utilize the full potential to grow their business.

And I’m not the only one… There are many more entrepreneurs like me who followed their passion and dreams. Success follows...

For some, it comes early; for lucky few, it comes at a later stage. I believe the ’40s being a golden age and a lucky charm for many entrepreneurs who are waiting to taste the success.

Check out these amazing people who followed their passion, despite their ages.

1. Sridhar Vembu – Zoho Corp

2. Kailash Katkar – Quick Heal Technologies

3. Dirubhai Ambani – Reliance – Success in his 40’s

4. Karsanbhai Patel – Man behind NIRMA

5. Elon Musk – Tesla

6. MomoFuko Ando | Instant Noodles | 48

7. Donald Fischer | Gap | 41

8. Iconic - Henry Ford | Ford Motor Company | 45

9. Colonel Harland Sanders | KFC | 62

10. Vijay Rekhi, Unibev

11. ❤️ At age ___, ___ (insert your age and name.)

Conclusion

I do not accede to the idea that money is good to measure success because money can have anyone without doing any work. If you disagree, please comment with your thoughts.

Amazing insights. But considering money empowers you to invest back, expand your business, gives you the ability to say no to things, money should definitely be a marker of success. In future, we should normalise conversations about having/earned or not having/earned money 😃🙏
