December Reflections

December Reflections

First of all, thank you for subscribing to my blogs and for all your engagement across the year. What I write is shaped by all the conversations I have. I really appreciate every comment, click and message.

This will be my final message of 2024. It’s been a big year for me. My audience has more than doubled, and I have had the opportunity to engage with people from all kinds of professional backgrounds. My speaking and leadership team work has seen me travel thousands of miles across the country. I have worked with those in local government, property development, banking, pensions, education, policing, mortgages, funerals, construction…you get the picture.

In addition to that I rebranded, got my speaker showreel together (and a second version ready to go out in 2025) and blogged weekly. There’s been a lot of tricks for an old dog to learn! It is also true that I could not have done it without the support of my Virtual Assistant Shaheen who has helped me in so many ways, not least in what I should be developing next. Thank you!

Last but not least the Gen Z aspect of my work is likely to take over in 2025. If (big if) I split my content into different subscriber lists I will let you know.

The reason it is likely to take off is because my book The Snowflake Myth will be published in 2025. If you would like to subscribe to all emails around the book – including a free chapter please click here.

At the end of this message below are links to each of my blogs from the last six weeks. Which ones resonated with you and what would you like me to write about in the future?

Podcast Appearances

The Truth About Local Government – I was interviewed by Matt Masters about Gen Z. We talked about why local government has a good story to tell the youngest generation in the workplace, and other topics too. Matt’s enthusiasm for all things local government is deeply infectious, and he is a real authority on the subject – I recommend all he does.

Strategy Café: Gen Z v X, Snowflakes & Negligent Hoarders: - I spoke with Alembic Strategy founder Nick Mayhew about Gen Z and why they are different to what has come. Alembic is a management consultancy firm based in London. Nick is a deep thinker; do check out the other episodes they cover a wide range of topics.

I wish you a wonderful break, and every success and happiness for 2025.

Alex

Remember that

  • These blogs are informed by what my clients say to me - what topic would you like to appear next?

  • My book ‘The Snowflake Myth: Why Gen X is wrong about Gen Z’ will be published in 2025.

How can I help you?

1. One to one coaching programmes for senior leaders who are swamped by their jobs so they can thrive in life. Click here to discover where you are on your journey from Frantic to Fulfilled? Just 5 minutes of your time and you will receive a full personalised report with guidance on your next steps.

2. Team coaching programmes - working IN a team is not the same as working AS a team and yet they are often treated as if they are the same. I help teams move from the former to the latter, and generate huge shifts in productivity and outcomes.

3. Talks, workshops and seminars - including topics relevant to the two areas above plus explaining Gen Z to Gen X and dealing with the intergenerational workplace. Speaker showreel here.

4. My book The Snowflake Myth will be published in 2025 - to receive a free chapter (when available 😬) please click here.
