Confident, Competent, Credible Women
Women are told a lot, far too much for us, that they should be more confident. Well, Lead to Soar is calling that B.S. because telling women to be more confident fails to address the underlying causes of a lack of confidence, of which there are many.
Nevertheless, there are steps that each of us can take to build our confidence and navigate our careers more successfully by being confident, competent, and credible businesswomen.
Confidence: Confident leaders know their worth, clearly communicate their vision, and inspire others to follow.
Competence: Competence builds trust and credibility. Your actions, decisions, and leadership must consistently reflect high standards of excellence.
Credibility: Credibility is earned through consistency, integrity, and delivering results. Credible leaders are trusted with significant decisions.
In October, the Lead to Soar Network will explore how women leaders can be more confident, competent and credible leaders. It will be no surprise to any of you that there is a formula or a "recipe" for this, which co-founder Susan Colantuono sums up perfectly with this quote:
Your Leadership Call to Action
We want ambitious women leaders to reach their full potential. So this month, we have three steps for you to take:
Get involved in the Lead to Soar Network this month (and every month) because we have conversations, content, and experiences you will not find in any other women's leadership network. If you lack confidence, then you are not the only woman! Take that first step toward your career.
Stop, breathe and reflect on the professional brand you've established. Ask yourself: Do my colleagues, my boss, and my boss's boss view me as confident, competent, and credible? What steps can I take to reinforce or elevate these perceptions? (We have resources to help you with this.)
Lead to Soar is here to support you and the women in your organisation in developing leadership capabilities. We support women and organisations in 5 ways;
The Lead to Network is an online network of ambitious women leaders at every career stage with access to peer coaching, mentoring by the hosts (me and three others), real-time chats, social media-type content, and development experiences to add rocket fuel to their careers.
The Lead to Soar Podcast: a free weekly podcast for women and managers of women to build better workplaces and leaders.
The Lead to Soar Summit: an in-person leadership development event held annually in Australia and the USA.
Women’s Leadership Programs: Closing the leadership gender gap by equipping women with critical leadership skills rarely taught in programs designed for women.
DEI Consulting & Advisory: We co-design powerful, sustainable DEI strategies with organisations and help them build the capability and capacity to implement them.
