Can Modular Shop fittings look like on site carpentry?

This was the question from the client Mochi! 

Mochi as a brand is on a rapid expansion and so their carpentry driven retail model was becoming their anchor, slowing them down. When the design agency showcased their concept for the new format and asked us, “can you convert this into a modular system without loosing its clean lines and integrated lighting”? 

We set off on one of our most interesting engineering journeys!

The system of choice for this design concept was the ENGAGE FIT N LIGHT electrified shop fitting solution, our proprietary product line. 

To create the clean seamless back panel design, we embedded the ENGAGE electrified tracks in the side panel and engineered a unique hooking system for the metal rings, on which the glass shelves rest. 

The wooden cabinetry is a combination of white panels lined by black acrylic which was interlocked together in a specific way to ensure the vertical and horizontal grooves are all masked within shadows. The in store signages are also plugged into and powered by the ENGAGE FIT N LIGHT adding further flexibility to the stores visual merchandising team.

To allow the Sneakers section to stand out, the Illuminated shoe plates were used to create an interesting sports display of each individual shoe perched on its own shelf plugged into and powered by the ENGAGE FNL’s electrified tracks.

 A uniquely designed mid floor unit which is also self- lit, thanks to the use of the ENGAGE FIT N LIGHT system, is a signature of the MOCHI design identity. 

By converting the carpentry inspired design deck into a modular kit, Mochi was able to accelerate their roll out significantly.
