Position: Attorney, Community Care Licensing (CCL) Enforcement Branch, Oakland Unit, CDSS Legal Division (Full-time, Permanent).

Location: Oakland; Hybrid work with telework option (employee’s residence). Travel reimbursement based on office location.

Salary: $7,506.00 - $11,676.00 per Month

Job Description and Duties:

  • Represent clients in administrative tribunals statewide.

  • Enforce Licensing Division statutes and regulations.

  • Prosecute cases involving health and safety risks in community care facilities (foster homes, child care centers, elderly care, etc.).

  • Develop litigation strategies for cases like license revocations, denials, and exclusions.

  • Collaborate with experts, law enforcement, and victims for complex cases (e.g., child maltreatment, elder abuse).

  • Negotiate settlements and stipulations as appropriate.

  • Expertise in evidentiary rules, hearsay exceptions, and trial strategy.
