The CA. Department of Social Services' Legal Division is recruiting for an Attorney position in Alameda County.
Position: Attorney, Community Care Licensing (CCL) Enforcement Branch, Oakland Unit, CDSS Legal Division (Full-time, Permanent).
Location: Oakland; Hybrid work with telework option (employee’s residence). Travel reimbursement based on office location.
Salary: $7,506.00 - $11,676.00 per Month

Job Description and Duties:
Represent clients in administrative tribunals statewide.
Enforce Licensing Division statutes and regulations.
Prosecute cases involving health and safety risks in community care facilities (foster homes, child care centers, elderly care, etc.).
Develop litigation strategies for cases like license revocations, denials, and exclusions.
Collaborate with experts, law enforcement, and victims for complex cases (e.g., child maltreatment, elder abuse).
Negotiate settlements and stipulations as appropriate.
Expertise in evidentiary rules, hearsay exceptions, and trial strategy.
