Bleisure? Is that a word?
According to the recent PROPEL benchmark - 94% of companies in Israel and Europe pay "Per-Diem" for their employees when they travel. This makes perfect sense when the traveler is on a business trip. However - these past years we see a new trend emerge - "Bleisure" (Yes, that's a term) - the mixture of business and leisure travel.

Corporate travelers are more and more mixing leisure plans with their business travel. According to a recent study by Expedia - 30% of travelers are adding a day or two to their business trip (source: https://www.manticpoint.com/…/bleisure-fleeting-buzzword-or…). So does it make sense to keep paying Per Diem for someone sightseeing after their business meetings are done?
In general - Employee travel policy is one of the most "hot" topics when it comes to company culture. Do you allow employees to travel in Business Class? For every flight? What about booking the flight? Do you allow your employees to book on every website (e.g. booking.com, hotels.com) or are they using pre-selected tools (Concur)? As travel is such a huge expense - this discussion is critical.
