Blasphemy of Religion

Covid19, the name will be etched into the minds of all those who have felt its presence. That's about 7.5 billion people.

What is it that we have learnt in the past year?

Religious leaders and differentiators are put to shame with this virus, none of their gods or their prayers or their monetary pleasures is helping people tackle the virus. Not many have even opened the doors for the needy and sick, just a handful of the many.

The astrologers, soothsayers, psychics, healers, meditators, and all those who were predicting our future, failed to see the catastrophe in the coming or the length of time that it would be there to make our lives miserable.

The rich are not able to use their wealth to cheat or delay death. No amount of money has prevented their death.

So what did we learn from this past year in reality?

Unity of people is more important than division. The people are coming to realize the importance of togetherness and the haters are now realizing the everyone, irrespective of religion, caste, creed or colour plays an important role in the world and our individual lives.

In a recent incident, a person of a faith (eating non-veg, booze, and the works) donated plasma to a person of another faith (eating pure veg, no alcohol or any intoxications). The family of the person receiving the donation was asked, do you not think that the person would become unholy with the plasma of the person donating? They were quick to respond that religion is a different need and the life of the patient was more important, as long as the doctors were able to advise on the requirements, they were satisfied with it.

Death is uniting

Death suddenly turned the faith into a faded belief, they were willing to relinquish their belief to avoid death, not money but belief! It gave me a thought, why would they be so fickle-minded when death approached them. Did not their faith say there was a heaven, for those who did good and would be able to enjoy the rest of their lives without pain or suffering? Then why could they not accept death as a part of the life cycle?

In another episode, a person of a faith, helped a person of another faith find a hospital bed, and all was done over the phone (COVID protocols). They were happy to have met each other and there was a connection that happened, it went on for a few months and now they are Phone dating, with WhatsApp calls and interactions on a daily basis. They know the reality of their relationship and that their families would not accept it. But the person saved was overjoyed with the act of generosity the person who coordinated the whole process, in spite of knowing their background, that they wanted to be together. They did not take their faiths as being the reason for falling in love or for what the people around them felt or believed.

Not sure where the relation with end us with the religious divide that has been the mantra for a few in the past few years. But they are happy at this moment and they will learn how to manage their lives.

Death is uniting Religions

Religion was meant to unite, but each religion has its own divides, its own egos to manage. Why do we not question each other to the beliefs that were programmed in us by birth by our parents and society at large?

Why are we not questioning our beliefs? Our Thoughts, our actions, our past, our present?

Do we really think that by hurting another, we would be happy for a day or week or month or year?

Can we look into uniting individuals to a global community irrespective of the region they come from, the language they speak, the colour of their skin, the religion they believe in, the food they eat, the songs they like to sing, or the movies they like to watch!

We are ebbing from the religious chains and moving towards a society that is more humanitarian and focused on the goodness of the earth. We are being forced to see beyond the charades of these false dogma preachers and teachers.

Are we on the right path?

Covid19 has been the best thing that happened to mankind, it is the realization that people matter more than politics. I hope this trend continues, else we would be looking at another pandemic to help people realize who is the god among us!
