Behind the scenes: Developing a career at Signify

Sezen Kutluay first joined Signify in 2018. She started her career in Turkey as a new graduate industrial engineer and soon learned that marketing was her true passion. For the past two years, she has been working as a CSI Channel Marketeer, responsible for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary at Signify Czech Republic. She has now become Global Product Manager Hue Bulbs, achieving a new milestone in her career.

Why did you choose Signify as an employer?

I was originally drawn to Signify’s strong Philips brand.  As a marketeer, it is important to learn from and contribute to the brand that you work for.

Signify is a great place to improve your skills with mentorship opportunities and stretch assignments that allow you to gain experience in different areas and pursue what you are truly passionate about.

How has your career grown since you joined Signify?

It is important to work for a company where I can develop my skills and have learning opportunities. Since joining Signify, I have attended external trainings to learn about marketing and customer experience, which I believe is crucial for marketing. However, I have also attended internal trainings that helped me to reach my potential. I’ve also had the opportunity to receive special trainings and mentorship, which has been especially valuable.

 What would you like to achieve in the future? 

I would like to witness the growth of the brand that I am contributing to with the strategies that I will bring to the table. I will be open to trying new ways and learning from my new experiences as a lifelong learner. Meanwhile, I aim to share my knowledge with others, just as my colleagues have supported me during my journey in the company.

Signify aims to grow its early career talents. What do you think people at the beginning of their careers can bring to the table? 

Early career talents are great opportunities for established global companies since they challenge standards that have been applied for many years and bring new and innovative ideas. I also think that they are open to learning more and trying new approaches, which can make a difference to the company.
