Communicating may be the single most important thing you do. It's the foundation of all your relationships. But–for something so quotidian–it's a skill that needs constant polishing. Here are a few tips from Ariel experts:

  • Know your strengths and weaknesses. Do you get reactive when you're anxious? Too molecular when talking about details?

  • Be authentic. If you're a bubbly person–be bubbly. If not, don't force it. Find a way to communicate effectively while being yourself.

  • Foster connections by active listening. Mirror body language and validate your listener's responses to create connection and build trust.

Employees (and people) tend to avoid difficult conversations, leading to unresolved conflicts and diminished workplace morale. See how to navigate these situations proactively in our article on Leading Difficult Conversations to Successful Outcomes

Do you need guidance in giving hard-to-hear feedback or voicing disagreement? Join us for: The Art of Difficult Conversations (Sept 18). This workshop helps you to address and resolve conflicts, ensuring you're among the proactive few who transform challenging interactions into opportunities for growth.

Articulating your personal brand has never been more important in an era that values real connections and authenticity above all. Join Jay Harris to explore how you can craft an authentic personal narrative that resonates, in this workshop on Building a Powerful Personal Brand (Oct 30).

Coach Spotlight

Our August coach is Bernice Ang. She is a former Marketing executive (you might recognize her work from the Diet Coke rebrand in the 90's). She has dedicated the past 5 years to coaching high-level executives and we had the opportunity to interview her. She describes her work with executives as transformative; she doesn't focus on incremental change, but aspires to help leaders become the person they have always wanted to be. Read our interview, "Transforming Leaders through Executive Coaching," with Bernice.

Cheers,

Your team at Ariel
