Image classification and image identification are distinct tasks in computer vision. Image classification involves categorizing an entire image into a single label based on its content, such as determining the overall category of an image. Image identification, on the other hand, focuses on locating and identifying specific objects within an image, such as recognizing a particular person or product.
Image classification is generally less complex and faster, while image identification requires more detailed processing and matching specific features. Both techniques are widely used in fields like security, healthcare, retail, and autonomous vehicles, with classification used for general categorization and identification for recognizing specific entities.

Day 2 :Shaping Ideas into Reality
Karthik Singaravelan's Tech Lead Note
Empowering Farmers with Satellite Technology through Terramate
It’s exciting to see tech solutions support farmers in making data-driven decisions for healthier crops and optimized yields.
We leveraged high-resolution satellite imagery to provide real-time insights, letting farmers monitor crop health, detect anomalies, and manage resources more effectively.
Our team designed and trained models to analyze image data, recognizing patterns. Our priority was designing a user-friendly interface, making it easy for farmers to understand complex data insights without requiring extensive training.
With our infrastructure, Terramate can grow with the farmers’ needs and adapt to various types of crops, regions, and changing environmental factors. Result will be reduced crop damage, optimized yields, and a more resilient farming ecosystem.
Proud to be part of a team using cutting-edge tech to empower those feeding the world!
