The Anticimex Methodology: How our focus on pest prevention reduces the need for harmful biocides.

At Anticimex, we are focused on reducing the use of harmful biocides for pest control. The safety of people and the preservation of the environment are essential constants in our journey towards healthier communities.

We also recognize that not all species cause problems for people, so we focus on finding pest control solutions that target only those species that cause problems in a particular location.

Biodiversity is both vital and fragile, and our priority is to work hard to develop pest control solutions that help maintain its balance. To achieve this, we have developed a methodology that is our ship's log on this important journey towards a healthier planet. On this journey, we don't forget that our most important goal is our customers' peace of mind, knowing that their businesses, homes and communities are free of harmful pests.

The Anticimex Methodology consists of four important pillars: Inspection, Monitoring, Prevention and Control. Let's take a closer look at each of these pillars.

Inspection

We cannot stress enough the importance of a professional and thorough inspection. It's during this phase that we can get a true picture of the species causing the problems, the hiding places, the stage of infestation, and the conductive conditions. Only by gathering and studying all this information can we find the best possible solution.

Monitoring

Having eyes in hard-to-reach places 24/7 is critical to understanding pest behavior and conductive conditions. Our SMART digital devices send alerts to our computers when pest activity is detected, allowing us to act much faster than in the past. Collecting this information also allows us to analyze millions of data points to identify trends and improve our solutions and services, making us more proactive than ever. Thanks to our innovations in data analytics, we are no longer guessing. Finally, our digital monitoring devices help us track the effectiveness of our prevention and treatment efforts.

Prevention

Prevention is the key to reducing the use of chemicals that can be harmful to the environment, non-target species and even humans. A robust prevention plan facilitates a pest-free environment and reduces damage to products and reputation. Our experienced technicians work with customers to provide early detection and prevention training, best practices, and proofing services to secure buildings by eliminating pest entry points.

Treatment

Our focus on inspection, prevention and digital monitoring results in much smaller infestations, shorter treatment times and less chemical use. We prioritize low-toxic control solutions, and the use of harmful biocides is always a last resort. To ensure this, we have developed a Biodiversity Impact Matrix where we assess the impact of each substance we use and classify them as green (no or very low impact), yellow (medium impact) and red (high impact).

With the Anticimex Methodology everyone wins.

Customers experience less biocide exposure, less pest damage to their infrastructure, products and reputation and more audits passed without irregularities.

And the environment wins too. Thanks to our pest preventive approach and reduced use of harmful biocides we protect biodiversity by controlling pests and invasive species, we reduce the risk of pest borne diseases by controlling the pests that carry them and we minimize property loss and food waste by detecting pests much earlier.
