America SCORES Cup, Sat July 9, 2016

Good afternoon! Everyone!

Soccer is wonderful exercise for both mind and body and I strongly believe in making sure every child has the opportunity to get on the field and learn the game. I am excited to be participating on a State Street soccer team that will be raising funds for America SCORES Boston by playing in a Tournament at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, July 9th.

America SCORES Boston uses soccer, along with creative writing, and service-learning in their innovative after-school programs to support Boston inner-city youth. Inner-city youth suffer from high rates of obesity and low literacy rates and America SCORES Boston tackles both of these issues to help kids who may not otherwise get the chance to experience the satisfaction that participating in soccer can bring. America SCORES provides kids with playtime, coaching and training on soccer skills to allow them to gain confidence on the field. To further build on that new found confidence, there is an academic side - poetry - another vehicle for them to express themselves. It is not a coincidence that the subject matter of much of their poetry is the empowerment that they develop through soccer and making connections between success on the field and success in the classroom and beyond.

Please join me in supporting this great cause and sponsor me for the Tournament. I need your help in reaching our team fund raising goal!!! The following link is my personal player profile and provides a simple and secure way to make any size donation: http://fndr.se/5347

Thank you so much!

Best,

Dan

Great Dan, I think the Leicester City story, in particular Jamie Vardy proves that no one should give up on their dreams.
