AI Is The New Internet (How To Protect Your Personal Brand & Business In The New AI World)

Remember back in the 1990's when the internet became a thing?
Everyone said it was a fad.
Even Bill Gates, the man who pioneered the OS that most computers were running on at the time said the same thing in 93’…
Fast-forward to today.
The internet is everything.
It’s the store.
It’s the radio.
It’s the library.
It’s the school.
It’s the television.
It’s the dating pool.
It’s the community centre.
It’s become everything and anything we can think of.
The entire world’s economy now runs off the internet and IoT devices.
Thousands of new businesses emerged and billions of dollars were made.
So then what will AI become?
Everything 2.0
And just like Netflix killed Blockbuster with the internet.
The same revolution is taking centre stage with AI as you read these very words.
So...
How can you position yourself to both take advantage of AI AND defend against it?
One key phrase...
“Speed to Value.”
What the internet did was change how business and customers got what they both wanted.
Customers wanted better products at lower prices with greater speed.
Sellers wanted more customers at higher profits with greater speed.
The internet gave them both exactly that.
The bottom line?
AI is the next evolution of that speed.
And this truth applies to both your personal brand AND your business.
Let's dive deeper...
For your personal brand?
This means giving your community the value they want faster via content.
Let’s say you’re a copywriter.
As an example, you traditionally give value to your community by creating LinkedIn Hooks.
The problem?
ChatGPT can now produce those same (if not better) hooks in seconds.
So how can you remain valuable when this is the reality of today?
You have to teach people higher-level ideas like how to GENERATE their own LinkedIn Hooks using ChatGPT and Prompt Engineering…
Your wealth of knowledge is no longer about the products you create for the community, but teaching others how to create that product for themselves.
So basically…
Instead of giving them a fish, you teach them how to fish.
And when they see you as the personal brand that helped them do just that?
Your value increases exponentially...
Rather than fading into the background as more people turn to AI directly for all their answers.
Now, for your business?
Let’s continue on this copywriter example
Imagine your business is centred around ghostwriting for your clients.
The value you provide to them is about how well you can write their posts.
But...
Since AI can now do this using basic prompting, what value remains?
Your business promise should no longer be about delivering ghostwriting services, it needs to be about delivering speed to results.
Here’s the difference:
Old Way = “Ghostwriter for 7-9 Figure Entrepreneurs. Done-for-you Copywriting Services.”
New Way = “10X Your Reach, Likes & Leads with Premium Ghostwriting That Gets You 250K Impressions Guaranteed within 90 Days”
The old way is selling a service.
The new way is selling an outcome.
The speed to value for clients here becomes the speed to the result that translates directly into their business ROI, not just about removing the headache of the process.
Why?
AI will automate these processes more and more every day (Just look at brandbeam.ai).
Your business will be a risk sell something that clients will eventually access for $0 over time.
But…
As long as your primary focus is always on the quality of the end result?
This makes sure they still need you, regardless of their access to AI.
“But Will this is just for copywriters right?
I’ll surely be fine as a...”
Nope.
Here are more examples just so you really see the bigger picture...
Let’s say you’re an online fitness coach.
There’s already AI apps that create custom meal and workout plans with logging and tracking that are replacing personal trainers.
And as soon as AI Avatars become mainstream, everyone will also have a virtual fitness trainer customised for their exact needs in their pockets.
So how can your brand and business be defensible for this as an online fitness coach?
Don’t sell the process, sell your personality. Make it your primary value.
Lean more into authenticity and your own story like “How I Overcame Depression and Lost 15 Kgs”, rather than generic boring “Here are 3-Steps To Lose Belly Fat”.
Then inject that personality into your own AI Avatar and/or app that people can access directly.
Speed to value here is about scaled and direct access to you because people want to become and look like you, not another AI.
Let’s say you’re a Business Consultant.
AI Agents are getting more intelligent. ChatGPT-o1’s IQ is now 120.
Within the next year, it will be smarter than most people who ever lived.
You don’t think that the AI Agent can replicate a business consultant simply by tapping into an existing business’ database, CRM and apps?
Think again.
So how can you protect yourself as a business consultant?
Don’t sell the service, sell the speed to outcome.
Here’s how…
Take your YEARS of nuanced industry experience that has generated successful results, and build your OWN AI Agents that use that knowledge.
Deploy them into businesses to do what you already do but 10X faster.
Then document the process of building it in public and showcasing it’s prowess to attract those who will want to use it.
(The best news is that all of this is possible with no code as well thanks to AI itself.)
The idea is to inject the IP/ideas/systems you’ve stockpiled over years into your own AI that a general LLM wouldn’t know, and then sell your own scalability and ability to generate results.
Now, these are just two more examples...
But I hope they open your mind to the kind of ways you have to start thinking today in order to succeed tomorrow.
Summary
This is a new paradigm shift and it’s already happening.
Today’s newsletter is high-level rather than process-driven as it usually is because you need to be aware of this to succeed in the long run for both your personal brand/business and with AI.
As always...
I'm here to make sure you gain freedom and succeed.
I'm here to make sure you surf this AI wave, not be drowned by it.
Because if AI keeps accelerating at the pace it is going? (And it will)
Most traditional business models will all be wiped out in the next 18-36 mths.
The good news is this.
You still have time.
But only if you adopt AI today and use it to get ahead of everyone that refuses to.
Because when they realise that AI has taken away their brand and business value?
It will already be too late.
So start now.
Get ahead while you still can.
Future you is depending on it.
See You Next Friday 🙌
