This is 50....as it turns out, I have learned a thing or two....

  • Let’s be a community that is judged not on how we regard the wealthy, privileged or advantaged, but instead how we treat the poor, the marginalized and the excluded. #Gratitude to Bryan Stevenson's vision (Ted Talk).
  • Don’t expect growth and comfort to mix - your mindset is your most authentic impact
  • Be purpose-driven and values-based - make everything you do about that
  • Vulnerability is in us all ; when you come across a glass that appears half empty, redesign the glass
  • Pursue your curiosity, be an infinite thinker and don't let your pitch go by
  • My relationships and network are everything to me and everything I do is for them - the people and their aspirations.
  • Baseball brings people together and I made it about that - I love bunt plays. I love the idea of the sacrifice - even the word is good; giving yourself up for the good of the whole, you find your own good in the good of the whole. You find your own individual fulfillment in the success of the community. Thank you Governor Mario Cuomo for being my inspiration.
  • Asking questions is a form of listening and brings you closer to the problems we need to work on
  • Not everything works out the way you want - failure is just but a step forward for the next time when you get it right
  • Get off the sideline and into the game and shoot your shot - it's time for us to see what you got.
  • Wake up every day wanting to make a difference with people who share your values - I am so lucky to do that at home with my family and in my career and I am so grateful.
  • Eric Clapton’s legendary album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, was released today, the exact same day I was born and well, I think that’s pretty damn cool.

In the words of Ruth Bader Ginsburg ; If you want to be a true professional, you will do something to repair tears in your community. Something to make a life a little better for people less fortunate than you. That's what I think a meaningful life is - living not for oneself, but for one's community.

Sounds to me like I am just getting warmed up...
