2021 the year of Access!

What a year we have had!

We started the year witnessing the Reddit investor community make Wall Street cry. These so-called amateurs demonstrated that the wisdom of the retail investors should not be ignored and that their voice is here to stay. Their aim was to crush the short-sellers and they succeeded.

It was patronizing to see the Reddit investor community referred to as amateur investors. Every master was a beginner once.

Watching vulture funds lose their shirts because they decided to bet against a company and go against the basic tenets of decent capitalism is refreshing. Since when is it decent to be an activist investor? There are various ways to effect positive change; choose wisely.

The growth of the retail voice led to recapitalisation of AMC. Kudos to the CEO of AMC Adam Aaron for engaging efficiently and respectfully with the APE community. I truly am impressed with Adam and how he inclusive and respectful he was to the APE community. A true Jedi Master indeed!

The importance of Telegram and Twitter as an engagement tools for the investor community is growing to a global level, continuing to attract more community members and cannot be ignored. Every CEO and every leader should understand and learn how to communicate with the new investor community and use their tools. Engage effectively in a meaningful and radically transparent manner and, most importantly be available/present for any questions that may arise.

Do not ignore crypto and do not ignore the power of communities.

Access Access Access (used to be Location Location Location) is what everybody has.

DAO’s The decentralised autonomous organisation is here to stay and with the growth in crypto globally one can be rest assured that access to opportunities in a decentralised manner will continue to be available and, most importantly capital is reaching this destination and bringing more capital with it. The retail investors have built various communities on various platforms, and it is definitely their time to benefit from what has always been a closed exclusive club.

Autonomous, Decentralisation and Democratisation are key themes for 2022.

Be present to stay relevant but most importantly learn how to engage with the communities. The days of the ivory towers are over.

This is a time to return to decency and create value for all the stakeholders in the community whilst ensuring we can build with collaboration and a defined outcome in mind. To those communities who can change the world, my advice is that you focus on how to make 1+1 = 11 (what I refer to as The Multiplier Effect).

Be a decent investor, be a decent member of your community and most importantly be a decent human being.
