2018 Cal Poly Center for Innovation (CIE) Innovation Quest 2018
I had the privilege of participating as a judge at the Cal Poly Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Innovation Quest contest yesterday. This is the 5th or 6th year that I have been able to participate.
We saw twelve amazing groups of our future innovators and entrepreneurs present their companies and business plans. Congratulations to the 12 teams that made it to the finals:

It was not easy to pick the winners amongst these great ideas, but we did finally pick three of the top ideas and teams. A big congratulations to the winners and I look forward to seeing your progress over the coming months and years:
1st Prize - Massive Obstetric Hemorrhage Indication Device. A very cool device to quickly diagnose if a pregnant women has the ability to clot during hemorrhage after childbirth. It has the potential to save many thousands of lives from the number one cause of death from childbirth (postpartum hemorrhage).
2nd Prize - Pantry from Clove. A great product and subscription service to grow fresh produce anywhere in the world under any conditions and do it quicker using aeroponics technology.
3rd Prize - Lost Coast Surf Tech. Three surfers looking to bring real technology innovation to the surf industry through high-tech fins.
Thanks Tom Katona and the entire CIE team for everything you do for our next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
